Measured, not estimated.

Real-time waste intelligence for high-throughput venues.

Airports, exhibition centres, stadiums and events — where waste arrives fast, mixes on contact, and is reported by the contractor you’re paying. Bilqis measures it at the source, flags what’s costing you money, and proves the result.

The Problem

Picture a stadium at full capacity. Over roughly two hours, every fan leaves behind close to a kilogram of waste — together, several tonnes, generated almost all at once. At the scale of a major tournament, that climbs into the thousands of tonnes.

Most industries make waste slowly, with time to sort and react. An event doesn't. The moment the final whistle blows, that waste is already mixed, bagged, and hauled away — unsorted, unmeasured, impossible to prove.

The same happens in an airport terminal at peak, an exhibition hall at breakdown, a catering facility at service. The venue pledged to keep 75% out of landfill. But without seeing what happened, as it happened, there's no way to know — or show — whether they did.

This is the gap we exist to close. Not from a lack of care, but a lack of sight. You can't protect what you can't see, and you can't prove what you never measured.

Most venues see their waste data at month-end — weeks after anyone could act

Today, even the world's biggest events sort their waste by hand — slow, costly, and nearly impossible to verify. There's a better way.

How It Works

Four steps, from the moment waste is created to audit-ready proof.

01

Capture

Waste is recorded at the point of disposal — by smart device or the Bilqis app.

02

Classify

Our AI engine identifies the material at the source.

03

Act

Failures are flagged live and routed to whoever owns them — not at month-end.

04

Prove

Audit-ready reporting with the evidence behind every claim (GRI, ISO, CSRD).

Measured, not estimated. Acted on now, not at month-end.

What it’s worth

Reduce cost, protect the guest experience, enforce vendor performance, prove results.

Cut avoidable cost

Unnecessary collections, contamination charges, recoverable material going to landfill, and gaps between what the contractor invoices and what was actually generated. Exposure is estimated, the fix is assigned, and the saving is re-measured — not assumed.

Hold vendors to their contract

Every record ties back to venue → event → zone → vendor → time → evidence. Compare caterers and contractors, challenge an inaccurate report, and support a deduction or contract review with proof rather than an opinion.

Protect the guest experience

Overflowing bins, missed collections and repeatedly dirty zones are a service problem before they are a sustainability one. They surface while the event is still running, not in the post-event review.

Act while it still matters

Most venues receive waste data weeks later, when nothing can be corrected. Failures are flagged live and routed to whoever owns them, so the shift that caused the problem is the shift that fixes it.

Prove it independently

Controlled evidence of what happened, where, who was responsible, what was done and whether performance improved — for ESG and regulatory reporting, sponsor claims, contractor disputes and internal audit.

Plan the next one better

Benchmarks build by event type, attendance, zone, vendor and time of day — informing bin placement, staffing, catering quantities, procurement and the terms of the next contract.

Sustainability is the outcome. Operational control and verified value are why venues pay.

Why It Matters

Impact that reaches further than the bin.

Environmental

Every tonne diverted is carbon avoided and landfill spared — turning sustainability targets from hope into evidence.

Health & Dignity

Behind every waste stream are the people who handle it. Visibility and sorting at the source mean safer, cleaner, more dignified conditions for waste workers — a value we were founded on.

Social

We make sustainability accountable — giving venues, cities, and communities proof they can trust, and a model for responsible events the region can be proud of.

Our mission: to make waste management and resource systems safer, smarter, and more human.

Our Story

Bilqis GreenTech is a women-led, UAE-based climate-tech startup founded by twin sisters Safiatou and Sarah Fomba. Raised across 11 countries and shaped by 20+ years of their family's construction work, they saw early how badly the world manages waste — and who pays the price for it.

The name honors Queen Bilqis, the Queen of Sheba — a symbol of wisdom, leadership, and justice.
